Galaxy S24 series (including S24 FE) getting July 2025 security update in more regions

Samsung has started expanding the July 2025 security update for the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy S24 FE. The update initially rolled out in South Korea last week, but it’s now reaching more markets, including Europe.

For users in Europe, the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra are receiving the new security patch with firmware version S92*BXXS4BYG2, while the Galaxy S24 FE is getting it under version S721BXXS6BYE5. The update package weighs in at around 302.32MB, and as expected from a monthly patch, the changelog doesn’t mention any major feature additions.

However, that doesn’t mean the update isn’t important. The July 2025 security patch brings more than 40 security improvements, including 20+ fixes from Google and 17 exclusive patches from Samsung aimed at enhancing the protection of Galaxy devices. These updates tackle vulnerabilities ranging from moderate to critical, and may also resolve underlying bugs that haven’t been officially acknowledged.

One UI 8 on the horizon

Samsung is actively working on One UI 8, its next major Android skin based on Android 16. The Galaxy S24 series is among the first in line to get the update, and the One UI 8 beta program is expected to go live for S24 users in the coming days. This will allow early adopters to test new features ahead of the stable release.

As for the Galaxy S24 FE, it won’t be part of the beta program, likely due to Samsung’s usual strategy for Fan Edition models. However, the device is eligible for the One UI 8 stable update and is expected to be among the first wave of devices to receive it once the rollout begins — likely sometime next month.
