Here’s when One UI 8 beta is coming to Galaxy S24, Fold 6, and Flip 6 users in India

Samsung is finally expanding its One UI 8 beta program to more devices in India — and now we have a date. After recently announcing the One UI 8 beta expansion to more Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, the brand has now revealed the exact date when the beta update will be released.

In a post from Samsung Newsroom India on X, the company confirmed that Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 users in India will be able to join the Android 16-based One UI 8 Beta Program for these devices starting August 11, 2025.

One UI 8 beta finally arrives for more devices

Until now, One UI 8 testing was exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series, leaving other 2024 and 2025 flagships waiting on the sidelines. Starting August 11, owners of the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6 in India will be able to sign up for the Android 16-based beta through the Samsung Members app.

A banner will appear once the program goes live — simply tap it, enroll, and download the beta from Settings > Software update > Download and install. Remember to backup your important data to prevent any data loss.

Samsung cautions that beta builds may contain bugs or unfinished features, so those relying on their phone for mission-critical work may want to wait for the stable release.

What’s new in One UI 8

One UI 8 builds on the solid foundation of One UI 7, focusing on refinements, smarter multitasking, and deeper personalization. Key highlights include:

  • Enhanced productivity – Quick Share now has a full-screen layout with dedicated “Send” and “Ready to receive” tabs, split-screen supports larger app views, and Samsung DeX adds resolution and rotation controls.
  • More personalization and automation – Dynamic live wallpapers change with the time of day, and Modes & Routines add options like Cold weather alert, Morning briefing, and Umbrella reminder.
  • Redesigned apps – The Gallery now auto-sorts screenshots into categories, My Files gets new filters, and the Weather app sports smoother animations. The Reminder and Calendar apps are more tightly integrated, making task management easier.
  • Privacy upgrades – Secure Folder supports separate fingerprints, hidden app storage, and the ability to completely hide the folder itself.
  • Other tweaks – Camera swipe gestures are customizable, Bluetooth audio sharing is easier with QR codes, alarms are more controllable via widgets, and Samsung Health lets you challenge friends to fitness goals.

Stable release could be around the corner

While Samsung hasn’t confirmed when the stable One UI 8 rollout will begin for these models, the beta expansion suggests it may not be far off. It could kick off in late September, starting with the Galaxy S25 series, and then gradually covering more Galaxy devices over the coming weeks.
