One UI 8 beta for Galaxy S24 skips two major AI features

Samsung finally launched the One UI 8 beta program for the Galaxy S24 series, giving users a taste of Android 16 and a bunch of new enhancements. However, the first beta build is missing two of the most anticipated AI-powered features—Now Brief and the upgraded Audio Eraser. These omissions have left many Galaxy S24 users surprised, especially after leaks suggested they’d be part of the experience.

Two hyped AI features missing in action

One UI 8 Beta 1 doesn’t include Now Brief, the smart summarization tool that debuted with the Galaxy S25 series. It was expected to arrive on the S24 lineup via this beta, but it’s not here—yet. Also missing is Audio Eraser v2, an upgraded version of Samsung’s AI noise-removal tool, which makes editing audio in the Gallery, Notes, and Voice Recorder apps effortless.

Both features were spotted in earlier internal test builds and were a highlight in Samsung’s foldable launch announcements, so their absence is a bit unexpected. There’s no word yet from Samsung on whether these will come in a future beta update or be held back for the stable release.

What’s new in One UI 8 beta for Galaxy S24?

Despite the omissions, One UI 8 Beta 1 brings a handful of visual and functional upgrades to the Galaxy S24 series. Users can now enjoy new lock screen clock styles, AI wallpaper suggestions from the Gallery, and smoother animations across the UI. There’s also a fresh coat of paint across Samsung apps, along with better multitasking, improved Samsung DeX, and some new customization options.

When can you expect the missing features?

The stable One UI 8 update is expected to arrive sometime in late October or early November, and it’s likely that Samsung is holding back the Now Brief and Audio Eraser v2 features until then. However, there’s also a possibility they could show up in a future beta build if Samsung decides to test them before public release.

Stay tuned—we’ll keep you posted if and when these features start showing up in the next beta builds. For now, Galaxy S24 users can enjoy the early taste of Android 16, even if it’s not the full meal just yet.
