Here’s when Samsung will start rolling out stable One UI 8 update

Samsung kicked off the One UI 8 Beta Program back in May with the Galaxy S25 series, and the beta rollout has gradually expanded to more Galaxy phones and foldables. The company has also confirmed a timeline for the stable release of One UI 8 — and it’s coming sooner than you might think.

Stable One UI 8 is coming soon — starting with Galaxy S25

Samsung hasn’t revealed the exact release date yet, but it has promised that the stable One UI 8 update will go live in September, at least for the Galaxy S25 series. Other Galaxy S, Z, and A devices will follow gradually, with the goal of completing the rollout by the end of 2025.

Samsung’s adoption of Google’s trunk-based development model has allowed it to speed up major One UI rollouts. Going forward, Samsung is expected to release major One UI versions mid-year with its new foldables, while pushing feature-rich minor updates early in the year alongside the Galaxy S lineup.

What’s new in One UI 8?

One UI 8 doesn’t drastically change the design, but it adds useful enhancements across several core apps and features:

  • Quick Share has been simplified with a cleaner layout and more intuitive options for sharing files between Galaxy and other devices.
  • Alarms, Calendar, and Reminders have been improved with better scheduling and customization controls.

Samsung has also enhanced Modes and Routines, introducing new actions and conditions to automate your phone usage even more effectively.

Multitasking sees a solid boost too. One UI 8 brings a refined split-screen mode and upgrades to Samsung DeX, leveraging Android 16’s improved desktop mode support.

For power users and privacy-conscious folks, there are subtle but handy updates:

  • A new gesture customization option in the Camera app.
  • Better Profile Cards in the Phone app.
  • The Contacts app now shows call recordings linked to specific contacts.
  • Secure Folder has received additional security improvements.

With the stable update arriving soon, now’s the time to back up your data and prepare your Galaxy phone for One UI 8.
