
Samsung has started rolling out the August 2025 security update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra. The new update is based on One UI 7 and Android 15 and focuses on improving the overall security and stability of the devices.
What’s new in the August 2025 security patch
The latest update fixes 29 Android security vulnerabilities, including 1 critical issue and 28 high-risk flaws. In addition, Samsung has addressed 18 Galaxy-specific security vulnerabilities found in its own software, ensuring better protection for sensitive data and improved device reliability.
Currently, the update is rolling out in South Korea, but Samsung plans to expand it to more regions, including India, the US, and Europe, in the coming days.

One UI 8 update plans for Galaxy S22
While Samsung is preparing to expand the One UI 8 beta program to more Galaxy devices, the Galaxy S22 series is not eligible for the beta. Instead, it will directly receive the stable One UI 8 update. According to Samsung’s internal testing roadmap, the Galaxy S22 series is expected to get the Android 16-based One UI 8 stable update in October 2025, shortly after the Galaxy S25 series receives it first in September.
