Motorola Android 16 eligible devices list

Google surprised everyone by launching Android 16 months ahead of schedule, making it available for Pixel devices in early June. With the stable release out, other brands — including Motorola — are now preparing their own updates. The company has already started inviting select users to test the Android 16 beta, and a broader rollout will follow in the coming months.

When will Motorola start rolling out Android 16?

Motorola isn’t the fastest when it comes to software updates. The company is still pushing out Android 15 to several devices, but Android 16 is already in the works. The beta program has started in select regions for limited models, but spots are extremely limited and not everyone will get in.

Unlike some of its competitors, Motorola doesn’t conduct large-scale public beta testing. Instead, it offers controlled access through its Motorola Feedback Network (MFN), where users can apply to join ongoing test programs. You can check the Current Testing Opportunities section on Motorola’s forums to see if your device qualifies.

As for the stable rollout, Motorola hasn’t officially shared a timeline. However, based on the company’s previous release schedules, Android 16 is expected to start rolling out around October 2025, beginning with flagship models like the Razr and Edge series, followed by select mid-range and budget phones.

If you own one of the eligible devices, keep an eye on Motorola’s announcements and system update notifications over the next few months.
