Samsung continues to impress with the speed of its One UI 8 beta release. Just yesterday, the company surprised everyone by launching the beta program for a bunch of devices all at once — including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy A55, A54, A36, and A35. This was easily one of the most aggressive beta expansions we’ve seen from the company.
Now, Samsung is capping off the beta wave by adding the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 to the One UI 8.0 beta program. These were the last two remaining devices due to receive the Android 16-based beta, making the lineup complete.
Some Galaxy Tab S10 models may also receive One UI 8 beta, as they were previously listed on beta expansion list in a post on Samsung’s US Newsroom, but the page is no longer working. The gobal and Indian newsrooms haven’t listed Galaxy Tab S10 models for One UI 8 beta. So, things are a bit skeptical at the moment for Tab S10 series, but for the Fold 5 and Flip 5, it’s time for an early access to One UI 8.
One UI 8 beta is now live for Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5
The One UI 8 beta update is currently available for Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 users in South Korea. The update is expected to expand to more countries — including India, the UK, and the US — in the coming days.

As expected, this update brings Android 16 along with a host of new features and improvements. These include a revamped full-screen Quick Share UI, improved DeX and split-screen multitasking, smarter calendar and reminder functions, and enhanced Secure Folder protection.
While the firmware version and download size for the update haven’t been revealed yet, based on previous beta builds for other devices, you can expect a download size of around 2GB–3GB, depending on your model.

Steps to sign up for the One UI 8 beta program
If you own a Galaxy Z Fold 5 or Z Flip 5 and want to try One UI 8 before its stable release, here’s how to get started:
- Install the Samsung Members app from the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store.
- Log in using the Samsung Account already registered on your device.
- Look for the One UI 8 beta banner inside the app.
- Tap the banner and follow the steps to enroll your device in the beta program.
- Once enrolled, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install to grab the beta.
Do note that beta software can be buggy, with potential performance issues and broken features. It’s advisable to install it only if you’re okay with some hiccups or are using a secondary device.
When is the stable One UI 8 update coming?
Samsung has officially confirmed that the stable One UI 8 rollout will begin in September 2025, starting with the Galaxy S25 series. Other flagship models — including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Galaxy S24 series — are likely to follow shortly after. As for the Fold 5 and Flip 5, a stable release is expected in October, once enough testing is done through the beta phase.
With the Fold 5 and Flip 5 now part of the program, Samsung has nearly all major 2023 and 2024 Galaxy phones running the beta — a strong signal that the stable One UI 8 rollout is just around the corner.
