Galaxy S25 Edge gets stable One UI 8 update

Samsung has surprised its users by releasing the stable One UI 8 update based on Android 16 for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Earlier today, the company began rolling out the new software to the Galaxy S25 series, starting with the regular, Plus, and Ultra models. Since the Edge variant wasn’t part of the beta program, many expected it would take a little longer to get the update. Instead, Samsung is pushing it out right alongside the other models.

Stable One UI 8 arrives for Galaxy S25 Edge

Because the Galaxy S25 Edge skipped beta testing, the stable update comes as a large download of around 3.4GB. It includes the full suite of One UI 8 features and improvements in one package. The rollout (via) has started in South Korea with firmware version S937NKSU2BYI3, and it’s likely to reach more regions soon.

If you own a Galaxy S25 Edge, you should see an update notification pop up in the coming days. You can also check manually by heading to Settings » Software update » Download and install on your device.

This marks the Galaxy S25 Edge’s first major OS upgrade, and given Samsung’s track record, more flagship models—including last year’s Galaxy S24 and the foldables—should also be upgraded to One UI 8 later this month.
