Galaxy S24 series picks up stable One UI 8 update

Samsung is on a roll with One UI 8 updates. After releasing the stable version to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 earlier today, the company has now turned its attention to the Galaxy S24 lineup. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra are officially receiving the stable One UI 8 update, giving users their first taste of Android 16.

The rollout has kicked off in South Korea with firmware version S92xNKSU4CYI7. As usual, Korea gets the first wave, but Samsung isn’t expected to take long before expanding the update to other regions.

What’s new with One UI 8 on the Galaxy S24 series?

While One UI 8 doesn’t radically change the user interface, it introduces several refinements and quality-of-life improvements. One highlight is the new lock screen clock customization feature, letting you choose from fresh and more stylish clock designs.

Samsung has also polished the look and feel of its stock apps, reorganizing certain menus to make navigation smoother. AI-powered features are expanding too — the Audio Eraser tool is now accessible in more apps like the voice recorder, making it easier to clean up background noise.

Other subtle but useful improvements include, refined designs in core apps for a cleaner experience, smarter system organization for better usability, and expanded AI integration across apps and services

If you own a Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra in South Korea, you can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once downloaded, tap Install now to complete the upgrade.

The update size should be a couple of gigabytes, so make sure you’re on Wi-Fi and have enough battery before starting the process. For beta users, it should be a small package of less than a gigabyte.
