Samsung is proving once again that it means business when it comes to software updates. The company’s rollout pace for the stable One UI 8 update based on Android 16 has been nothing short of impressive. Earlier today, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 started receiving the new software, followed by the Galaxy S24 series. Now, the Galaxy S24 FE has surprisingly joined the party as well.
The stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy S24 FE 5G is now rolling out in South Korea, with firmware version S721NKSU6CYI6. Global users won’t have to wait long — the update is expected to expand to more regions in just a few days.

What makes this rollout interesting is that the Galaxy S24 FE never participated in the One UI 8 beta program, yet it’s receiving the stable update almost in sync with the main flagship lineup. We saw a similar move last week with the Galaxy S25 Edge, which also skipped beta testing but got the stable update straight away.
Samsung’s ahead of its One UI 8 rollout schedule
Samsung had initially scheduled the Galaxy S24 FE’s Android 16 update for October. But with this surprise release in the fourth week of September, the company is clearly ahead of its own roadmap. This is good news for Galaxy fans, as it signals a faster pace for other eligible Galaxy phones and tablets to get the upgrade.
If you own the Galaxy S24 FE in South Korea, you should see a notification for the update soon. You can also check manually by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. With the update size likely to be several gigabytes, make sure you have enough storage space, a stable Wi-Fi connection, and sufficient battery before starting the installation.
With the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Galaxy S24 series, and now the Galaxy S24 FE already on One UI 8, Samsung has set the tone for one of its fastest stable rollouts ever. If this pace continues, more Galaxy devices could be running Android 16 much earlier than expected.
