Samsung isn’t slowing down with its One UI 8 rollout. Earlier this week, the Galaxy A56 surprised everyone by jumping to the stable Android 16 update alongside premium Galaxy models like the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and S24 series. Now, another mid-range device — the Galaxy A36 — has also started receiving the stable One UI 8 update, even as some high-end phones are still waiting their turn.
The update is currently live in South Korea, carrying firmware version A366NKSU2BYI9 and bundled with the September 2025 security patch. It should expand to other regions anytime soon.

What’s new in One UI 8 for Galaxy A36?
The stable One UI 8.0 software brings several UI refinements and feature upgrades. Quick Share now has a cleaner and more intuitive design, while apps like Samsung Internet and My Files have received visual overhauls.
The Alarm, Calendar, and Reminder apps also gain new item management features, making them more practical for day-to-day use. On top of that, One UI 8 introduces additional customization options, allowing users to tweak the look and feel of their device more than before. As always, privacy and security improvements are part of the package, giving Galaxy A36 users a safer mobile experience.
Samsung had originally scheduled the Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 to receive the stable One UI 8 update in October 2025, but both phones have already jumped ahead of schedule. This early rollout not only benefits users but also shows how quickly Samsung is moving with its Android 16 distribution this year.
If you own a Galaxy A36 in South Korea, you can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once downloaded, tap Install now, and your phone will restart with the fresh One UI 8 build.
