Galaxy Tab S10 Plus, S10 Ultra get One UI 8 update

Samsung is on a roll today. Just hours after pushing the stable One UI 8 (Android 16) update to the Galaxy S23 series, the company has also started rolling it out to the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra. What’s even more impressive is that all of these devices are getting the update ahead of Samsung’s official roadmap, which had them scheduled for October.

The stable One UI 8 update is now live in South Korea, skipping the Beta Program entirely. Users have spotted the new software carrying build version CYI5, with a hefty download size of 3.5GB. The update is expected to expand to more regions starting next month, provided no major bugs show up in the initial rollout.

Interestingly, while the update is rolling out to the Plus and Ultra models first, it’s only a matter of time before the regular Galaxy Tab S10 also joins the party. Samsung usually rolls out updates in phases, and since the larger models are already getting Android 16, the base model shouldn’t be far behind.

The Galaxy Tab S10 lineup originally shipped with Android 14 (One UI 6). It picked up the One UI 7 (Android 15) update earlier this year, and now it’s jumping straight to One UI 8 with Android 16. That’s two major OS upgrades in less than 12 months, showing how aggressively Samsung is improving its software support for tablets.

If you own one of these tablets and live in South Korea, you can manually check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Since the rollout is gradual, the update may not show up right away. But don’t worry — Samsung is expanding the rollout sequentially, and your device should get it soon if no major issues are found.
