After hitting South Korea and several European markets last week, the Galaxy S23 series is now receiving the stable One UI 8 update in India, which is based on Android 16.
The update is rolling out to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra users with the firmware version EYI5 and includes the September 2025 security patch, alongside One UI 8 goodies.

As usual, the One UI 8 update is reaching beta testers first, with a download size of just over 300MB. For users who weren’t part of the beta program, the full update weighs around 3GB, so it’s best to make sure you’re connected to Wi-Fi before hitting download.
If you’re rocking a Galaxy S23 series phone in India, you can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once downloaded, tap Install now, and your phone will handle the rest.
The One UI 8 update introduces plenty of meaningful upgrades and refinements. You’ll notice a revamped Quick Share interface, a refreshed Samsung Internet browser, and an improved My Files app. The Modes and Routines feature gets more actions and conditions, while Alarm, Calendar, and Reminder apps now include better organization and management tools.
Samsung has also tightened up Secure Folder for added protection and upgraded DeX mode with new display rotation options and a smoother overall experience, thanks to Android 16’s Desktop Mode foundation.
