One UI 8 update lands on Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4

Samsung continues its rapid One UI 8 rollout, and this time, it’s the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4’s turn to join the Android 16 party. Over the past few weeks, the company has been busy pushing the update to several high-end and mid-range Galaxy devices, and now, the 2022 foldables are finally getting the same treatment.

One UI 8 rolls out to Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 in multiple regions

The stable One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, is now rolling out to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 across Africa, Asia, and Europe. The firmware version for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 is F936BXXUAIYIF, while the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is receiving F721BXXUAIYIF.

The update also brings the October 2025 security patch, ensuring improved device protection and bug fixes. Since the update package weighs more than 3GB, it’s best to connect to Wi-Fi before downloading it to avoid using too much mobile data.

If you own a Galaxy Z Flip 4 or Galaxy Z Fold 4, you can check for the new update manually by going to Settings → Software update → Download and install. Once the download completes, tap Install now to begin the process — it usually takes just a few minutes.

Samsung’s update streak continues

Samsung has been remarkably consistent with its software rollout this year. With One UI 8 now reaching the Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, the company has nearly covered its entire 2022 flagship lineup. The new version brings smoother animations, refined visuals, and enhanced customization options — all powered by Android 16’s performance and stability improvements.

If you haven’t received the notification yet, don’t worry — the rollout is happening in phases, so it may take a few days before it reaches your device. But when it does, your foldable will feel brand new again with One UI 8’s upgraded design and smarter features.
