After an initial rollout in South Korea, the One UI 8 update for Galaxy A55 has now reached India — one of Samsung’s key markets — for both beta and non-beta users.
The new update for the Galaxy A55 comes with the firmware version A556EXXUACYIA. For users who were part of the One UI 8 beta program, the update size is relatively small at around 300MB, since most features are already present on their devices. Non-beta users, however, will have to download a full package of approximately 1.9GB.
Along with the Android 16-based One UI 8 features, this build also includes the September 2025 security patch, bringing enhanced protection and improved system reliability.
The One UI 8 update delivers a refreshed design language across Samsung’s ecosystem with smoother animations, more cohesive icons, and improved multitasking. Apps like Quick Share, My Files, Calendar, and Samsung Internet have received UI and usability upgrades. The new Now Brief feature brings relevant updates and information directly to your lock screen, while Secure Folder and DeX benefit from additional security and performance optimizations.
Samsung initially released this update in South Korea, where the Galaxy A55 is also sold under the Galaxy Quantum 5 name. With the rollout now live in India, other markets are expected to follow shortly as the company continues its global expansion of the Android 16 upgrade.
If you own a Galaxy A55, you can check for the new update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once downloaded, tap Install now to reboot your device and enjoy all the latest One UI 8 features.
