Galaxy A73 One UI 8 update goes live

Samsung is on a roll today. After delivering the One UI 8 (Android 16) update to several mid-range devices — including the Galaxy A53, Galaxy A33, and Galaxy M56 — the company has now started rolling out the update for the Galaxy A73.

Galaxy A73 joins the One UI 8 update party

The stable One UI 8 update for the Galaxy A73 is now live in multiple countries, including the Philippines, Netherlands, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. It carries the firmware version A736BXXUAGYJ1 and also includes the September 2025 security patch, improving system security and stability alongside all the new One UI features.

Users in these regions can check for the update manually by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If it hasn’t appeared yet, it should show up within the next few days as the rollout expands to more markets.

What’s new with One UI 8 on the Galaxy A73

The One UI 8, based on Android 16, introduces a cleaner design, smoother animations, and improved performance across Samsung’s native apps. You’ll notice enhanced customization options, refined widgets, and new productivity features throughout the interface. Apps like Quick Share, Calendar, and My Files have been redesigned for a more modern and intuitive look.

Additionally, the update enhances privacy settings, updates the Secure Folder, and improves multitasking tools like Samsung DeX with more flexible display options.

Samsung’s remarkable update speed

Samsung deserves serious credit for the pace of its One UI 8 rollout. The company has managed to bring the latest software to a large portion of its portfolio — from flagship models to mid-range and budget devices — in record time.

If this rollout momentum continues, Samsung could complete the One UI 8 rollout by the end of this month, marking one of the fastest large-scale software upgrade cycles in its history.

The Galaxy A73 is also eligible for the upcoming One UI 8.5 update, which is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series early next year. That release will bring even more UI refinements and features, ensuring the A73 stays fresh and capable well into 2026.
