One UI 8 update lands on Galaxy XCover 7 Pro

Samsung is keeping its momentum strong with the One UI 8 (Android 16) rollout. After releasing the update for the standard Galaxy XCover 7 last week, the company has now begun rolling it out to the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro. The Pro model should have received the update first, but it’s good that the wait wasn’t long.

The new firmware for the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, identified as BYI6, is currently rolling out in South Korea. As is typical with Samsung’s release strategy, this update will likely expand to more regions in the coming days once the initial rollout proves stable.

If you own a Galaxy XCover 7 Pro, you can check whether the update is available on your device by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Once downloaded, tap Install now, and your device will restart with the new version of One UI.

What’s new in One UI 8 for Galaxy XCover 7 Pro?

The One UI 8 update, based on Android 16, brings a refined look and several productivity, AI, and multitasking upgrades to the rugged XCover 7 Pro. Apps like Calendar, Gallery, My Files, and Samsung Internet have received UI enhancements and quality-of-life improvements.

Samsung has also enhanced DeX mode, now powered by Android 16’s desktop interface, offering new layout controls, widgets, and portrait orientation support. Galaxy AI’s Drawing Assist now includes five new art styles, while the Gallery app gains an instant audio eraser button to quickly remove background noise from videos.

Other improvements include a more intuitive Quick Share, richer animations in the Weather app, an updated Reminder app with organized categories, and a sleeker Quick Panel. Meanwhile, features like Now Bar and Now Brief have gained new capabilities, including stock updates and a reading-aloud option for summaries.

Samsung’s smooth update rollout continues

While the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro arrived later to the One UI 8 party, the update continues Samsung’s impressive record of rapid software support across its lineup. The new firmware enhances not only the device’s performance and usability but also its visual appeal — making the rugged workhorse feel fresher than ever.

The rollout will soon reach more regions, ensuring Galaxy XCover 7 Pro users worldwide can experience Samsung’s latest software improvements without much delay.
