Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8.5 beta program, marking the first public release after weeks of internal test builds appearing online. The rollout begins with the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea and Germany, giving users of Samsung’s newest flagships an early look at what’s coming next.
One UI 8.5 beta now available for Galaxy S25 series
If you own a Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, or Galaxy S25 Ultra, you can now participate in Samsung’s latest beta program. As always, signing up is simple:
- Open the Samsung Members app.
- Look for the One UI Beta Program banner and enroll.
- Head to Settings > Software update > Download and install to fetch the beta build.
This early preview includes the upcoming UI refinements, feature upgrades, and system optimizations Samsung is preparing for the official One UI 8.5 release, expected to ship with the Galaxy S26 series early next year.

Not all S25 models are eligible for One UI 8.5 beta
Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy S25 Edge will not be part of the One UI 8.5 beta program. While this may disappoint some users, it aligns with Samsung’s long-standing practice: the company typically limits beta access to its primary Galaxy S trio. Owners of the FE and Edge variants will need to wait for the stable rollout in early 2026.
While the beta is currently live only in South Korea and Germany, Samsung isn’t stopping there. The program is expected to expand to the US and UK later today, bringing more Galaxy S25 owners into the testing wave. The second phase will extend availability to India and Poland, likely in the days ahead.
With One UI 8.5 now entering public testing, we’re just weeks away from seeing Samsung’s next-generation software take shape. The beta should reveal major UI changes, deeper Galaxy AI enhancements, and refinements across Samsung’s apps and services—setting the stage for a polished release alongside the Galaxy S26 lineup.
