Samsung has officially kicked off the One UI 8.5 beta rollout, giving Galaxy users an early look at the next major upgrade coming to Samsung phones. The beta program is now live in select regions, and a few Galaxy devices have made the cut for early access.

More devices could gain access to the beta as Samsung expands the testing program, but for now, the list remains exclusive to the Galaxy S25 lineup. The update is rolling out first in South Korea, Germany, and the United States, with more regions expected to join the beta phase soon through the Samsung Members app.

Samsung is sticking to its usual beta strategy this year as well. That means the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy S25 FE are not part of the beta, at least for the initial waves. Beta access is typically limited to the main flagship trio, and this year is no different.
If you own an eligible device and that the beta program is live in your region, you can enroll in the beta through the Samsung Members app. Once signed up, you can download the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One UI 8.5 is not an incremental upgrade but a major upgrade packed with plenty of useful upgrades, UI changes, and new features. Read the complete changelog here to see every change in this upgrade. As for the stable release, it will debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year, and then the update will expand to older Galaxy devices.
We’ll update the device list as soon as Samsung widens the One UI 8.5 beta rollout.
