Samsung has started rolling out the January 2026 security update to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Both foldables from last year are receiving the patch in South Korea first, with other regions expected to follow within the next few days.
The update for the Galaxy Z Flip 6 weighs 389.99MB and arrives with firmware version F741NKSS2CZA1. We don’t know the firmware version for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 yet, but it should carry a similar build number. The patch addresses 55 security vulnerabilities found in both Android and Samsung’s software, helping protect devices from potential threats.

Following its usual release pattern, Samsung is testing the update in its home market before expanding availability globally. If you own either device and want to check whether the January patch has reached your region, navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Beyond routine security patches, Samsung is currently beta testing One UI 8.5, its latest software based on Android 16 QPR2. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are both eligible for the upgrade, which should begin rolling out broadly after the Galaxy S26 series debuts in late February.
For now, the focus remains on monthly security maintenance. Once the January 2026 patch becomes available in your region, it’s worth installing as soon as possible to keep your device protected against known security issues.
