Vivo is continuing its aggressive OriginOS 6 rollout, with the Vivo X90 and Vivo V40 Pro now joining the list of devices receiving the Android 16-based update. Both phones are receiving the upgrade on schedule, bringing a substantial list of visual changes, new features, and performance improvements.
For Vivo X90 owners, the update arrives with firmware version PD224ICFEXA16.3.6.6.W30 and weighs in at 4.07GB. The exact firmware version for the Vivo V40 Pro hasn’t been confirmed yet, but screenshots shared online verify that the rollout has officially started for the device.

Like previous OriginOS 6 releases, Vivo is initially pushing the update through its trial program to ensure the final version remains free of critical bugs before wider distribution begins. If you’re comfortable testing early builds, you can access the update now by navigating to Settings > About Phone > System updates > version Trial > Trial version > download and install.
Before downloading such a large update package, make sure your device has adequate free storage space and is charged to at least 50 percent to prevent interruptions during installation. Backing up important data to cloud storage or an external device is also a smart precaution.
Vivo will likely shift focus to rollout the update to older devices in the V and T series lineups. According to the official rollout schedule, all remaining eligible devices should receive Android 16 update by the end of March.
