Galaxy S26 series is already getting its first software update

Samsung has begun rolling out the first post-launch software update for the Galaxy S26 series. The Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra are receiving the February 2026 security patch in select regions including South Korea and India, with the expansion to follow in the coming days.

The phones shipped with the January 2026 security patch when they launched, so this update moves them one step forward. In total, the February patch addresses 37 vulnerabilities, with 25 fixes coming from Google and 12 being Samsung-specific. Those Samsung fixes cover some fairly critical areas, including Emergency Sharing, Knox Guard Manager, Samsung Dialer, the Settings app, facial and fingerprint authentication, and the PACM module.

This update, spotted by Tarun Vats, is focused entirely on security and stability. Samsung may have slipped in some minor optimizations under the hood, but nothing notable has been confirmed beyond the patch itself. The firmware version rolling out in Korea is S94*NKSS1AZC7, according to Tarun Vats, and the download weighs in at around 557MB for the Ultra model. If you’re on the S26 or S26+, the file size should be similar.

  • Galaxy S26: S941NKSS1AZC7
  • Galaxy S26 Plus: S946NKSS1AZC7
  • Galaxy S26 Ultra: S948NKSS1AZC7

To check if the update is live on your device, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. The South Korea rollout is typically a precursor to a wider global push, so users in other regions should see it land within the next few days. It’s important to highlight that some users in certain markets might skip the February build entirely and receive the March security patch as their first update instead, since Samsung has already detailed its March SMR, even though that rollout hasn’t kicked off yet.
