Samsung rolls out One UI 8.5 beta for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6

Samsung has officially opened the One UI 8.5 beta program to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The 2024 foldables are now following in the footsteps of their successors, the Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, which entered the beta program a bit earlier this month.

The rollout kicked off in South Korea and has already expanded to India and the US. Users in the UK, Germany, and Poland should receive access shortly. The beta also carries the March 2026 security patch, in addition to the new features and enhancements from One UI 8.5.

To join the program, open the Samsung Members app and look for the beta banner. After registering, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install, and tap Install now once the download finishes. It’s worth backing up your important data before jumping in, since beta builds can come with bugs and occasional stability hiccups.

Samsung will likely follow up with additional beta builds for the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 as user feedback rolls in. More Galaxy devices could also be added to the One UI 8.5 beta program in the coming weeks. That wider expansion, if it happens, could nudge the stable release timeline toward May rather than earlier.

We’ll keep you updated as the rollout progresses.
