Samsung April 2026 security patch

Samsung’s April 2026 security patch has been rolling out to Galaxy devices, though the brand took a bit longer than usual to share what’s actually in it. The details are now out, and there’s quite a bit being addressed this month.

In total, the patch fixes 47 security vulnerabilities across Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and wearables. The bulk of the fixes, 33 of them, come straight from Google’s Android Security Bulletin for April 2026. Of those 33, 14 have been flagged as critical, 18 as high-severity, and one as moderate. Samsung also notes that Google’s bulletin for this month originally covered 17 additional fixes, but 11 weren’t applicable to Galaxy devices, and the remaining 6 had already been included in the previous security update.

Beyond the Google fixes, Samsung Mobile has contributed 10 patches of its own. Three of those are rated high-severity, five are moderate, and the severity level of the remaining one hasn’t been disclosed. Then there are four more fixes from Samsung Semiconductor, all of them rated high-severity.

It’s a fairly comprehensive patch overall, especially with 14 critical-level fixes from Google’s side. Samsung hasn’t broken down exactly which components or features those critical fixes target on the Galaxy side, but critical-severity patches typically address vulnerabilities that could allow remote code execution or significant privilege escalation without user interaction, so getting this one installed sooner rather than later is a good idea.

To check if the update is available for your device, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We’ll keep you updated as the April 2026 patch continues rolling out to more Galaxy devices.
