Nine betas in. Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series keeps going, and the latest build is now making its way to users. The ninth beta, carrying firmware version S93xBXXU9ZZD5, has started rolling out across all eligible regions: India, South Korea, the UK, and the US. This one has a download size of about 865MB.
As far as beta updates go, this one has a couple of genuinely interesting additions. The biggest is AirDrop support with Apple devices, which is a useful cross-platform feature for anyone who regularly shares files between a Galaxy phone and an iPhone or Mac. Alongside that, Samsung has added three new camera filters: Classic Film, Pop Film, and Blanc. They’re not flashy additions, but it’s good to see Samsung continuing to expand the creative options within the camera app even this deep into beta testing.

The rest of the changelog is focused on bug fixes, and there’s a decent list of them. Bluetooth stability gets attention here after periodic disconnection and reconnection issues. There are also fixes for a notification card that was getting clipped at the top, screen flickering during dual recording when adjusting zoom, and stuttering when opening gallery albums. A quirky AOD bug that showed incorrect time information has also been patched, along with a cosmetic fix for the notification card UI when the device is rotated. One more fix worth mentioning: the lock screen was briefly flashing before transitioning to the call screen during incoming calls, and that’s been resolved too.
Here’s the complete changelog for One UI 8.5 Beta 9:

Nine betas is an unusually long run. Beta 7 had looked like it might wrap things up, but Samsung has kept the builds coming. At this point, a stable One UI 8.5 release is the obvious next step, and if you’re wondering which devices are in line to receive it, we’ve got that covered. Stay tuned to our Samsung section for updates as they come.
