The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is finally picking up a new software release. The update is rolling out in India as of now, carrying a build version ending in AZD1 and weighing just 6.11MB.
Don’t expect anything flashy here. According to the official changelog, this is a stability and reliability update, which in practical terms means more consistent performance and fewer connection drops. Audio quality may also feel slightly more refined, though Samsung isn’t promising any audible transformation. No new features are included, and given where the Buds 2 lineup sits in Samsung’s product cycle, that’s unlikely to change going forward.

The last time the Galaxy Buds 2 series received an update was July 2025, so the gap is noticeable even by earbuds standards. Wireless earbuds generally don’t see frequent software updates compared to smartphones or smartwatches, since there’s simply less software to maintain. Still, nearly a year is a long stretch, and this release follows similar updates that Samsung recently pushed to the newer Galaxy Buds 3 lineup, including the FE model.
The standard Galaxy Buds 2 may also be part of this rollout. If not, according to SammyGuru, it should receive the same update soon, though availability will likely vary by region.
To check for the update, connect your Buds 2 Pro to a Samsung Galaxy smartphone and open the Settings app. Your buds should appear at the top of the screen. Tap the menu, select Earbuds software update, then tap Download and install. If nothing shows up yet, give it a few days and check again since these rollouts tend to expand gradually.
The update is lightweight enough that the process should only take a minute or two once it’s available on your device.
