Huawei starts rolling out stable EMUI 11 update to Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and Mate 30 Pro. Earlier this week, the Huawei announced EMUI 11 update timeline in which the first batch of devices are scheduled to receive the update starting from December. But, some users in Turkey have already received EMUI 11 stable update on Huawei P40, P40 Pro and Mate 30 Pro.
The update comes with build version 11.0.0.151 and weighs about 1.1GB in size. The most notable change in the latest update the UI changes while booting the device. During the bootup, the display still shows “Powered by Android” but removes the Android logo. This might be a hint that Huawei for a switch to Huawei’s own Harmony OS.
Another notable change is in the wording of security patch level, which Huawei mentions as “Security patch level” omitting the word “Android”. Due to the strict US ban, Huawei is facing difficultly in doing business with the US companies. As a result, Huawei has been actively developing its own OS called Harmony OS as a replacement to Android OS.
