Four Samsung Galaxy phones just lost update support

Samsung’s track record for software longevity has been nothing short of impressive. The company continues to outpace most Android manufacturers by offering extended support even for its mid-range and entry-level phones. However, every device eventually reaches its end of life — and that time has now come for a few popular Galaxy models.

Samsung has removed four Galaxy smartphones from its official software support page: Galaxy A52s, Galaxy A03s, Galaxy M32 5G, and Galaxy F42 5G. This means these smartphones will no longer receive new One UI upgrades or security patches.

All four models were released in the second half of 2021, each with Samsung’s four-year security update promise. With that timeline now complete, the devices have been removed from the official support page.

Time to consider an upgrade

If you own any of these devices, your phone will continue to function normally, but it will no longer receive security patches or bug fixes. This could make it more vulnerable to potential exploits or compatibility issues over time. For users who rely on their phones for sensitive data, upgrading to a newer model is strongly recommended.

Samsung’s newer devices — including many in the Galaxy A, F, and M series — now offer up to six years of major One UI upgrades and security updates. That’s a major step forward compared to what these 2021 devices received.

While it’s always bittersweet to see well-loved devices like the Galaxy A52s, A03s, M32 5G, and F42 5G reach their update limit, Samsung’s commitment to long-term software support remains unmatched in the Android world.

If you’re planning to upgrade, it’s worth checking out Samsung’s latest models that come with extended software guarantees, ensuring your next phone stays secure and feature-rich for many more years.
