Samsung deserves some credit here — its One UI 8 rollout has been nothing short of impressive. In September, a bunch of Galaxy devices received the stable Android 16–based update earlier than expected, and it looks like October is shaping up to be even faster. Just today, the Galaxy A54 and A34 picked up the new software, and now the update train has reached the Galaxy A17, A16, and A15.
The One UI 8 update for Galaxy A17 has been spotted in Vietnam, while Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A15 users are receiving the update in South Korea. However, it won’t be long before the update starts expanding to more regions.
The Galaxy A17 is getting the update with firmware version A176BXXU2BYID, while the Galaxy A15 is tagged with A156LKSU6CYIA. The Galaxy A16’s build number hasn’t been spotted yet, but it’s included in the same batch of updates. Alongside all the One UI 8 features, Samsung has also bundled in the September 2025 security patch, so you’re getting the latest protections as well.
If you own one of these devices, you can check for the update manually by going into Settings > Software update > Download and install. As always, rollouts are staged, so it might take a little while before the update shows up on your phone.
One UI 8 brings a refined interface and improvements across productivity, multitasking, and privacy. It’s not as massive a jump as last year’s One UI 7, but for budget and mid-range Galaxy owners, it’s a solid upgrade that helps keep things feeling fresh.
With the A17, A16, and A15 now on board, Samsung is moving quickly through its roadmap. Most Galaxy devices are still set to receive One UI 8 in October, but at this pace, it wouldn’t be surprising if Samsung manages to wrap things up even sooner.
