Galaxy A55, A34 getting the January 2026 security update

Samsung’s January 2026 security patch is making its way to more devices, now reaching the popular Galaxy A55 and A34. This comes just after the patch was first delivered to the Galaxy S25 series as part of the One UI 8.5 Beta 3 update earlier this month.

The rollout is currently underway in South Korea. The update for the Galaxy A55 arrives with firmware version A556SKSS6CYL2, while the Galaxy A34 receives version A346NKSSCEYL2. Owners of these devices can check for the new patch by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. A broader global rollout is expected to follow in the coming days.

This January 2026 security patch for Galaxy devices addresses a total of 51 vulnerabilities. It includes Google’s fixes for 29 security issues within the core Android OS, five of which are considered critical. On top of that, Samsung has patched 22 Samsung-specific vulnerabilities (SVEs) that exclusively affect its Galaxy devices.

For owners of the Galaxy A55 and A34, this prompt update is a positive sign of continued support. Both models are also eligible for the upcoming Android 16-based One UI 8.5 update, expected to arrive after its debut on the Galaxy S26 series.
