Galaxy M55, M55s getting One UI 8 update

Samsung Galaxy M55

Samsung is keeping its promise to deliver timely software updates — this time, the Galaxy M55 and Galaxy M55s are joining the growing list of devices receiving the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update. The rollout has started right on schedule, just as the company said it would for October.

Galaxy M55 and M55s get One UI 8 update in India

The update is currently available in India, where the Galaxy M55 is receiving firmware version M556BXXU4CYJ4 with a size of 2,618.76MB, while the Galaxy M55s is getting M558BXXU2CYJ4, sized 2,560.60MB. The new software not only upgrades both phones to Android 16 but also adds the October 2025 security patch, improving stability and addressing several vulnerabilities.

Users in India can check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. If the rollout hasn’t reached your device yet, it should appear within the next few days, and Samsung is expected to expand the update to more regions shortly.

Beyond the Android 16-based One UI 8 experience, both the Galaxy M55 and Galaxy M55s are eligible for One UI 8.5, Samsung’s next major customization built on Android 16 QPR2. The new version is set to debut early next year with the Galaxy S26 series, before expanding to older devices like the M55 series.
