Galaxy S24 Series Getting Its First Update in the US

Samsung Galaxy S24 phones are getting their first software update in the US. It’s rolling out to carrier-locked models in the region, starting with Verizon. Keep on reading to know what the first update has to offer.

The first software update for Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra brings the January 2024 security patch. According to the changelog, the update could also improve the performance. It’s a minor security patch update, so don’t expect it to bring major changes.

The update for Galaxy S24 series can by identified by the following One UI build versions:

  • Galaxy S24: S921USQU1AWM9
  • Galaxy S24+: S926USQU1AWM9
  • Galaxy S24 Ultra: S928USQU1AWM9

The January 2024 security patch for Samsung Galaxy devices resolves over 70 vulnerabilities found in the previous software version. It includes 5 One UI vulnerability patches related to notification service, Samsung DeX, MyFiles, and Bluetooth.

If you have a locked Galaxy S24, S24+, or S24 Ultra in the US, check if the update is available to install. To do that, go to Settings > Software update and click Download and install.
