Galaxy Z Flip 7, Fold 7 receiving January 2026 security update

Samsung’s latest foldables are getting their first software update of 2026. The company has started rolling out the January security patch to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 in South Korea, following a similar rollout to the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A55 last week.

The update brings firmware version F766NKSS7AYLT to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7 gets firmware version F966NKSS7AYLT. The update for both devices addresses 55 security vulnerabilities discovered in Android and Samsung’s software, helping protect devices from potential threats.

Users in South Korea who own either foldable can grab the update now by heading to Settings > Software update and tapping Download and install. Once the download completes, simply tap Install now, and the device will restart after a few minutes to complete the installation.

Samsung typically expands security updates to additional regions shortly after the initial rollout. While some countries may receive the January 2026 patch sooner than others, the staggered release approach ensures broader availability over time. If the update hasn’t appeared on your device yet, there’s no cause for concern — it should arrive within the next few days.
