Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta program is expanding beyond the Galaxy S25 series, and the foldables are now in. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has just been added to the program, joining the Z Fold 7, which got access a little earlier.
The rollout for the Z Fold 7 kicked off in India and South Korea first, with more countries expected to follow, including Germany, the UK, Poland, and the US. The Z Flip 7 is following the same path. Both devices are running the same build, carrying a firmware version that ends with ZZC5.
The update ships with the February 2026 security patch, not March’s. That’s a minor point, but worth knowing if you’re keeping tabs on patch levels. The download itself is on the heavier side, coming in at over 4GB, so a stable Wi-Fi connection and at least some battery charge before you begin is a good idea.
As for what One UI 8.5 actually brings, it’s a fairly significant visual overhaul. The quick panel has been redesigned with a lot more room for personalization, notification handling is smarter, and the interface leans into dynamic colors and blur effects throughout.
How to get One UI 8.5 beta
If you want in on the beta, the process is straightforward. Open the Samsung Members app on your Z Flip 7, scroll down to find the Beta banner, and tap through the enrollment steps. Once you agree to the terms and complete sign-up, head over to the Software Update section in Settings and hit Download now. The firmware may take a few minutes to show up after enrolling.
It’s good to see Samsung extending One UI 8.5 testing to its foldable lineup. The stable rollout is still a few weeks away at the earliest, but having the Fold 7 and Flip 7 in the beta pool means Samsung gets more real-world feedback before pushing the final build. We’ll keep you updated as more regions open up and the stable release gets closer.
