Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5 getting stable One UI 8 update

Samsung continues to impress users with its speedy One UI 8 rollout. The official rollout schedule had the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 slated for October, but owners in Korea are already seeing the update pop up. That means last year’s foldables are joining the growing list of Galaxy devices jumping onto Android 16 earlier than planned.

The stable One UI 8 build for the Fold 5 and Flip 5 comes with firmware version F946NKSU5FYI8 in Korea. It’s currently available for beta users with an update size of about 420MB. Non-beta users should also start getting the update anytime soon, but for them, the download size will be a few gigabytes.

If you’ve got either phone, you can head into Settings > Software update > Download and install to check if it’s available on your device.

Beyond the usual bug fixes and optimizations, One UI 8 delivers Samsung’s latest design refresh along with improvements across accessibility, multitasking, imaging, privacy, and more. It’s a sizable update that gives both foldables a noticeable boost in day-to-day usability.

Samsung says the update will expand to Brazil in October and India in November, though given how quickly it’s moving in Korea, don’t be surprised if it lands in other regions sooner. Once the international rollout begins, the firmware will also be available in Samsung’s official database for those who prefer to install it manually via Odin.

With the Fold 5 and Flip 5 now covered, the rollout momentum is looking strong. Most Galaxy phones and tablets should receive One UI 8 in October, with the remaining few set for early November. Considering how Samsung handled One UI 7, this ahead-of-schedule push feels like a welcome comeback.
