Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 receive January 2026 security update in more regions

Samsung is expanding the reach of its January 2026 security update, now delivering the latest patches to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in several new markets. Following its debut in South Korea, the rollout has now begun in Europe, India, and other regions.

The update for both Galaxy foldables arrives with a firmware build version ending in AZA1. The over-the-air package is a substantial download, weighing in at 548MB for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and 426MB for the Z Flip 7.

As expected for a monthly update, this release is exclusively focused on security enhancements. Samsung has previously detailed that the January patch addresses 55 security vulnerabilities across the Android OS and its own One UI software. So, you should install the update as soon as it becomes available for your device.

For owners in the newly covered regions, installing the update is straightforward. Simply head to Settings > Software update > Download and install. A key advantage for these modern foldables is support for Seamless Updates, allowing the installation to occur in the background without interrupting your phone use. A final restart is all that’s needed to apply the changes.

This update reinforces the security foundation for Samsung’s latest foldables ahead of their next major software upgrade. Both the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are eligible for the upcoming One UI 8.5 update, which is expected to arrive later this year following its debut with the Galaxy S26 series in February.
