Samsung has begun pushing the first software update to the Galaxy Z TriFold, the company’s first and the only tri-folding smartphone. The update is currently available in South Korea and the UAE, the only two markets where the device is sold currently.
The January 2026 security patch is now rolling out to Galaxy TriFold owners, packaged in a 541-megabyte update that ends with firmware version AZA1. Samsung’s security bulletin indicates the patch addresses 55 vulnerabilities discovered in both Android and the company’s software, helping protect devices from potential threats.

This update is delivered to the Galaxy TriFold via Seamless Updates, which eliminates most of the installation delay that users experience with traditional update methods. Instead of forcing the device into a shutdown state for the entire process, Seamless Updates handle the heavy lifting in the background.
If you own a Galaxy Z TriFold in one of the available markets, you can grab the update now by heading to Settings > Software update and tapping Download and install.
Samsung is also making progress on its One UI 8.5 rollout. The beta program is currently active for the Galaxy S25 series, but internal testing has expanded to include several other devices, including the Galaxy Z TriFold, indicating the tri-folding phone should receive without a longer wait.
