Google Pixel 4a is launching on August 3 – company confirms

After a huge round of leaks and rumors, Google has confirmed that it’s Pixel 4a will launch on August 3. Initially, it was expected to go official at the Google I/O event in May, which later cancelled due to coronavirus pandemic.

The company has put a special page on Google store website containing a puzzle based on ‘lorem ipsum’ a famous placeholder for web pages. Solving the puzzle will get you ‘August 3’ date. Along with this, there is also a tagline that reads “The Google Just What You’ve Been Waiting for Phone”. All these information simply reveals the launch date of Google Pixel 4a.

Google Pixel 4a – rumored specifications

Concluding all the past leaks and rumors, here are all the specifications that we know so far. The Pixel 4a is expected to feature 5.8-inch FullHD+ display with a puch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. We expect to see the Snapdragon 730G, a powerful mid-range chipset. The device may come in 4GB RAM/64GB storage and some other variants too.

Pixel 4a is said to have a single camera on the back with an LED flash arranged in square shape. The phone is tipped to cost around $399 (approx Rs 30,000) for the base variant.
