WhatsApp recently announced the multi-device feature, which was one of the most awaited features for the app. The multi-device feature is currently being rolled out to a limited number of beta testers. As of now, the company has not announced when it will be available for all the users. The new feature allows up to 4 devices (excluding the phone) to access WhatsApp account at the same time. What is WhatsApp Multi-device Feature

In simple words, the multi-device feature allows you to access your account from multiple devices simultaneously. This feature is already used by popular messaging services like Telegram, and Facebook. Currently, if you’re not a WhatsApp Multi-device beta tester, then you can only use WhatsApp on other devices like PC as long as the phone is connected to the internet. With the Multi-device feature, you will be no longer required to carry the phone everywhere and you can even use WhatsApp on other devices without turning on the data connection on the phone. 

Steps to Apply for WhatsApp Multi-device Beta

[Note: WhatsApp is currently testing the Multi-device feature on a limited number of smartphones. So, there’s a chance that your device might not be one of those. Go through the steps give below to check for eligibility.]

  • Join the WhatsApp beta program. You can do this by opening WhatsApp on Play Store and then scroll down. There you will see the option to be a beta tester
  • It may take a couple of mins to be a WhatsApp beta tester
  • Now, Open WhatsApp
  • Tap on the options button (three dots) and click on Linked devices
  • Now, Tap on Multi-device beta and then tap on Join Beta.
  • You are ready to use the WhatsApp Multi-device feature.

If the Multi-device feature is not showing on your phone under the linked devices tab. Then, check again in a few days.
