US extends ban on Huawei for another year

It’s been one year since the US president Donald Trump ban Huawei from doing business with US companies due to security issues. This is the reason why Huawei and Huawei based company Honor smartphone are not getting Google services.

On Wednesday, president Donald Trump has extended this ban on Huawei for another year till May 2021. This decision will continuously affect sales of Huawei devices Western markets.

Here are the words from Donald Trump extending this ban for another yer.

This threat continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy and economy of the united states. For this reason, the national emergency declared on May 15, 2019 must continue in effect beyond May 15, 2020. Therefore in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency declared in Executive order 13873 with respect to securing the information and communications technology and services supply chain.

As a replacement of Google Mobile Services Huawei has already developed Huawei Mobile Service (HMS) which was announced back in March. Huawei is continuously developing it’s own ecosystem without Google services. Huawei is also planning to replace Google’s Android OS with their own made Harmony OS. The company is spending millions of dollars to develops applications alternatives to Google apps and services.
