HyperOS Update Is Now Available for Poco M5

Xiaomi stood upon its promise of releasing the HyperOS update for the Poco M5. A couple of days back, the brand announced a list of devices to get the HyperOS update this month, and Poco M5 was one of them. We’re in the second week of the month, and the update is now live.

The HyperOS update for the Poco M5 is rolling out globally, carrying the software version HyperOS 1.0.2.0.ULUMIXM. The latest update is based on Android 14, and it brings not only the HyperOS goodies but also the December 2023 security patch.

It’s a major update for the Poco M5, so expect the download size to be around 2GB. Ensure that your device has enough network bandwidth and battery before downloading and installing the update.

HyperOS is much improved compared to the MIUI skin. One of the big complaints with MIUI is the inability to remove bloatware, which is no longer a problem in HyperOS. Though HyperOS also has bloatware apps, you can easily uninstall them. The OS seamlessly integrates with other Xiaomi products and smart home devices.

HyperOS brings smoother animation and transition, seamless switching between connected devices, and enhanced app security. It offers a clean and uncluttered user interface with a new system font and fresh icon designs. The control centre has been redesigned for easier access to frequently used settings.

If you own a Poco M5, check if the HyperOS is available for your device. To do that, go to Settings > About Phone > tap on the MIUI version > Check for Updates. Please note that the update is rolling out in batches, so it may take a few days to reach all the units.
