Motorola released the Moto G8 Power in earlier 2020, followed by a Lite version later the same year. Both the handsets came with Android 10 out of the box. Since all major smartphone brands have already started pushing Android 13 updates to their phones, you’d be wondering if your phone will also get the update or not. In this post, we’ll be talking about the Android 13 update for the Moto G8 Power and G8 Power Lite.

Moto G8 Power, G8 Power Lite: Overview

The Moto G8 Power ships with a 6.4-inch LCD display, while the Lite version is slightly bigger – a 6.5-inch display. You can easily differentiate the phones. The G8 Power has a punch-hole display, while the G8 Power Lite features a waterdrop display. Both devices have a 5,000mAh battery. But the G8 Power supports fast charging.

The Moto G8 Power has an additional camera sensor on the back, and the selfie camera has a higher megapixel. Without getting more into the technical details, let’s see whether they will get the Android 13 update or not.

Is Android 13 Update Coming to Moto G8 Power, G8 Power Lite?

Moto G8 Power was released with Android 10 out of the box. Later, the company rolled out the first major OS update for this phone – Android 11. Since then users keep on waiting for another Android update. The Moto G8 Power has not even received the Android 12 update.

If we talk about the Android 13 update, the Moto G8 Power will definitely not get it. It is not in Motorola’s official Android 13 update list.

The Moto G8 Power Lite will also not receive the Android 13 update. Although the Moto G8 Power and G8 Power Lite launched in the same year, the latter came with Android 9 (Pie). The G8 Power Lite has also received just one OS update – Android 10. It’s a horrible update policy from Motorola.
