MacBook Air is the most popular Mac and this time it is getting much better than earlier. The device replaces the Intel chip with the newly launched Apple M1 powerful chipset. The design part remains unchanged but not the performance. With the M1 chipset in the MacBook Air, the company claims for a 3.5 times faster CPU performance and up to 5 times faster graphics than its predecessor.
Apple removes the cooling fan present inside which leads to a fully silent environment. It delivers up to 15 hours of battery for browsing the web on Wi-Fi and lasts up to 18 hours for playing videos offline. So, it is the longest ever battery life on a MacBook Air.
The SSD speed is said to be two times faster than its predecessor. The new MacBook Air has a 13.3-inch 2560x1600p Retina display with P3 wide color gamut and 400nits of brightness. It boots MacOS Bis Sur out of the box. It has two USB Type-C port, two Thunderbolt ports, and an audio jack to the right side of the Mac.
Pre-orders for the MacBook Air (2020) have already been started from $999 (INR 92,900). However, for educational purpose customers can avail for $899. The base variant of the Mac has 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. There’s also an 8GB RAM + 512GB storage variant which has been priced at $1,249 (INR 1,17,900). The sales will start from November 17 and will be available in Gold, Silver, and Space Gray colors.
