Google announces Pixel Buds A-Series accidentally on Twitter

In the past, we have come across multiple leaks about Google’s next Pixel Buds. Yesterday, the company announced Pixel Buds A-Series through an accidental Twitter post by @Android9to5Google reports that the tweet was live for about 10 minutes and then removed.

Google Pixel Buds A-Series leak

This could be due to the accidental scheduling which suggests that Google may announce Pixel Buds A-Series at the upcoming I/O 2021 event, which is happening later this month.

The Tweet reveals that Pixel Buds A-Series has a white circular touch-sensitive dome, while the remaining parts appear as light grey. The earbuds will have “Fast Pair” feature which uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to discover nearby Bluetooth devices.

Generally, Google uses “A” letter in the device name to denote an affordable model as in Pixel 3a, 4a. So, the Pixel Buds A-Series could also belong to the affordable category. Several cost-cutting removals are reportedly made to the device, one of which is most likely the removal of swipe volume gestures.
