Huawei has quietly launched the 4G variant of Huawei P40 in China. It comes with 50MP triple cameras, OLED display, and supports 22.5W fast charging. The chipset is the main difference between the 4G and 5G models of Huawei P40. Kirin 990 4G powers the p40 4G, whereas the P40 5G is powered by Kirin 990 5G.

The Huawei P40 4G has been priced at 3,988 Yuan for the 8GB + 128GB sole option. This is about 500 Yuan cheaper than the Huawei P40 5G. The smartphone is available for purchase via JD.com in Dark Blue and Frost Silver colors.

The P40 4G offers a 6.1-inch OLED display with FullHD+ resolution and 60Hz of normal refresh rate. It is powered by Kirin 990 4G chipset coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, which is further expandable through NM card slot.
The triple camera setup on the back consists of a 50MP primary shooter, a 16MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto camera with OIS support. A wide cutout on the front houses a 32MP selfie shooter along with ToF 3D sensor.
JD listing does not mention the battery capacity however it should have a 3,800mAh capacity battery, the same as Huawei P40 5G. It charges at up to 22.5W speed through a USB Type-C port. The Huawei P40 4G features an in-display fingerprint scanner and has IP 53 rating for dust protection.
