Lava held its Game Changer event today where the company announced four smartphones and a fitness band. The smartphones are Lava Z1, Z2, Z4, and Z6. All the phones are a part of the “Make in India” initiative and Z1 gets a title for the World’s first ‘Designed In India’ smartphone.
Lava has also launched a special type of program called myZ. It allows buyers to customize the smartphone in terms of the rear camera, front camera, RAM, ROM, and color. Find more details on myZ program at the bottom of the article.
Lava Z4 and Z6: Price, Specifications
Lava Z4 and Z6 are pretty much the same smartphones except that Z4 has 4GB RAM while Z6 has 6GB RAM. Apart from this, both the phone share the same specifications and design. Both the phones have a 6.51-inch display with HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Lava Z4 and Z6 are fueled by MediaTek Helio G35 processor coupled with 64GB onboard storage which is expandable up to 512GB using a MicroSD card slot. Both the phones feature a triple camera setup on the back that consists of a 13MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, we get a 16MP selfie shooter housed inside the waterdrop notch.
The smartphones pack a 5,000mAh battery and charges through a USB Type-C port. Other notable specs include a triple card slot (2-SIM + 1 MicroSD card), a 3.5mm headphone jack, rear-side fingerprint scanner, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, and GPS + GLONASS for positioning.
Coming to the pricing part, the Lava Z4 will cost Rs 8,999 and the Z6 will cost Rs 9,999. The phones will be available in Red and Blue colors from January 11 through Amazon India, Lavamobiles.com, and offline stores.
Lava Z2: Price, Specifications
The Lava Z2 is a slightly trimmed version of the Z4 and Z6. The display, processor, and battery specs are exactly the same as the above two. Now, the main difference comes here. The Z2 only comes in a single storage configuration: 2GB RAM + 32GB storage which is further expandable too.
Another big difference that is Z2 has a 13MP + 2MP dual-camera setup, unlike the triple cameras on Z4 and Z6. The front sensor is also reduced to 8MP.
The Lava Z6 comes with a price tag of Rs 7,000. Sales will kick off from January 11.
Lava Z1: Price, Specifications
This is an entry-level smartphone from the company. Other than the “Designed in India” tag the device does not have something to hype about. Lava Z1 has a 5-inch FWVGA display with 480×854 pixel resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
The phone gets a 5MP front and a 5MP rear camera which can capture 720p videos. Z1 runs Android 10 out of the box. Like Z2, it also comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. It is fueled by Helio A20 chipset and packs a 3,100mAh battery. Other specs include a MicroUSB port, 4G connectivity, GPS, FM-Radio, GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Lava Z1 be your for just Rs 5,550 and sales for this will start from January 26.
Lava myZ program
As already mentioned in the beginning, the myZ allows users to customize the phone from options in five categories: rear camera, front camera, RAM, ROM, and color.
For rear cameras, you can choose from 13MP+5MP+2MP and 13MP+2MP. RAM options are – 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, 6GB and storage options include 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. Coming to the front section of the phone, you can choose either 8MP or 16MP and colors options are just Red and Blue.
There’s one more thing to talk about, which is the Lava Zup program. This lets you upgrade RAM and storage within the first year of purchase by paying a nominal fee. Except Lava Z1, the other three can be upgraded under the Zup program.
