On April 5, LG officially announced its exit from the mobile phone industry. Since then, current LG phone users have started to put questions about the software update, warranty support, and more. Clearing the doubts, today, the company through a blog announced that, “all premium LG smartphones currently in use will receive up to three iterations of Android operating system updates from the year of purchase.”
More specifically, the three OS update guarantee is applicable for the LG premium phones released in 2019 and after that which includes G series, V series, VELVET, Wing. Further, the company mentions that, certain 2020 models such as LG Stylo and K series will receive two OS updates.
One more thing to note here is that the number of OS updates are counted after the launch, not after this news. So, if a device has already received one OS update then it will be counted. Check the full list of devices below.
