Motorola has announced two new mid-range phones in Europe namely, Moto G50 and Moto G100. The Moto G100 is more towards a premium category offering a large display, Snapdragon 870 chipset. On the other hand, Moto G50 comes with Snapdragon 480 SoC and a slightly smaller display size.
Moto G50 and G100: price, availability
The newly-launched Moto G50 starts from EUR 229.99 for the 4GB/64GB storage variant. It also has a 4GB/128GB storage variant. The Moto G50 will be available for purchase in the coming weeks in Steel Grey and Aqua Green color options.
The more-premium Moto G100 price starts from EUR 499.99 for the 8GB/128GB sole option. It comes in Iridescent Ocean, Iridescent Sky, and Slate Grey color options. Initially, the phone will be made available in Europe and Latin America.
Motorola Moto G100 specifications
The Motorola Moto G100 offers a 6.7-inch FullHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 21:9 aspect ratio, and HDR10. It is fueled by Snapdragon 870 chipset and has a MicroSD slot for additional storage up to 1TB.
The quad-camera setup on the rear side consists of a 64MP primary sensor, a 16MP ultrawide lens with a 117-degree field of view, and a 2MP telephoto sensor, and lastly a ToF sensor. On the front, we have a 16MP main sensor and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
The Moto G100 packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 20W fast charging. The smartphone runs Android 11 and has a hybrid dual-sim slot (1 nano-SIM slot + 1 nano-SIM/MicroSD slot). Other notable specs include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 5G support, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Motorola Moto G50 specifications
The affordable Moto G50 comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 269ppi pixel density. Snapdragon 480 SoC runs the device and has got a MicroSD card option for expandable storage up to 1TB.
The smartphone features a triple camera setup which includes a 48MP primary camera, a 5MP macro shooter, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is no ultrawide lens. For selfies and video calling, it has got a 13MP sensor. This also comes with a 5,000mAh battery but the charging speed is limited to 15W. Unlike the G100, the G50 features a traditional rear-side fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
