It’s been a week since the Indian Government banned PUBG Mobile and 117 more Chinese apps due to the security and privacy of player’s data. Now, PUBG Corporation has released a statement regarding this ban.
In the statement, PUBG mentions ” PUBG Corporation has made the decision to no longer authorize the PUBG MOBILE franchise to Tencent Games in India”. It means that Tencent will no longer be the publisher of PUBG Mobile in India.
Further, the statement mentions, “PUBG Corporation fully understands and respects the measures taken by the government as the privacy and security of player data is a top priority for the company. It hopes to work hand-in-hand with the Indian government to find a solution that will allow gamers to once again drop into the battlegrounds while being fully compliant with Indian laws and regulations.PUBG Corporation will take on all publishing responsibilities within the country”.
PUBG is a subsidiary of Bluehole Studio based in South Korea. China’s Tencent Games has acquired an equity stake in PUBG Corporation as well as in Bluehole studio. One big question arises that, after removal of publishing rights with Tencent, will the Indian government approves this? What’s your opinion, write down the comment section?
