Redmi GM, Lu Weibing in his recent Weibo post confirmed that the company will soon launch its first gaming phone. He further revealed that this phone will be powered by a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset.
Lu Weibing further reveals that Dimensity 1200 flagship SoC will make its world debut in a Redmi phone. Without revealing the name of Redmi’s first gaming phone he wrote that, “In 2021, Redmi will focus on e-sports and launch Redmi’s first flagship gaming phone.”.
Lu further wrote, “Bring flagship e-sport experience to the fans of fans at a price that cannot be refused”. Another Redmi smartphone with Dimensity is most probably the K40, which will be released next month. There is so much to learn about this upcoming gaming smartphone. The Dimensity 1200 SoC is a 6nm chipset from MediaTek. It has a Cortex-A78 prime core that runs at 3.0GHz. The remaining ones are four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. This new chipset is about 22% faster and 25% more power-efficient than its previous generations.
